Solo Mine Bitcoin Cash (BCH)

Absolutely zero fees. Keep 100% of what you mine.

We’re focussed on one thing – enabling you to solo mine Bitcoin Cash (BCH). Our mining pool is based in the UK, offering high availability, whilst allowing you to keep 100% of what you mine.

How it works?

Follow these simple steps to start mining with BritPool today. Setup takes seconds and is completely confidential.

Configure Your Miner

Configure your miner to use our stratum URL & your BCH address (see below). No registration required.

Start Mining

Your miner connects to our pool and starts hashing. You can monitor your performance on our dashboard.

Get Paid

If you find a block, the Bitcoin Cash network pays you directly to your BCH address. We charge nothing. You keep it all.

See below for details on how to configure your miner.

Miner Setup

Simply configure your miner with our stratum URL shown below. Use your Bitcoin Cash address as your Username. Your password can be anything you like – most people just type “X”.

Stratum URL:
stratum+tcp://bch.britpool.com:3333
Username:
Your BCH address (e.g. qpafy4tg.....)
Password:
X (or anything you like)

New to mining? We’ve got you. Just scroll down to our “Setup Help” section below.

Setup Help

We understand setting up a crypto miner can feel a little daunting the first time you do it. Let us de-mystify things for you…

The first thing you need to do is access your miner’s configuration page and connect it to the internet. This is usually done via an app or a web browser. Consult your miner’s manufacturer’s instructions for details.

From there, you will see a section enabling you to configure the miner’s pool settings. You will see three fields…

The Pool URL

This is the internet address of the server running our mining pool. All our infrastructure is based in the UK.

Just copy the stratum URL exactly as we've written in the grey box above (including "stratum+tcp:" bit at the start, and the ":3333" at the end). Then paste it into the URL field of your miner.

It will usually be the first field on your pool setup screen.  Take care to enter this correctly. If you get this field wrong, your miner wont connect to our mining pool.

Username / Bitcoin Cash Address

This is your Bitcoin Cash address. It's used to send and receive funds, including any rewards for finding a block. Think of it as a bank account. It's important therefore you enter this correctly.

If you have more than one miner, you can append the address with ".BitAxe" or ".Nano" (or .anything you like) to enable you to monitor miners individually.

If you don't currently have a Bitcoin Cash Address, we recommend a mobile app called Exodus which will provide you with an address for free. We have no commercial association with the developer, Exodus Movement, Inc. We just really like the simplicity of their app.

Password

This can be anything you like. We don't validate it or store it. Most people just enter "X" into this field.

Some miners allow you to enter parameters into this field, like "d=1000", which sets a custom "difficulty". Most miners (like, BitAxe) set difficulty automatically. If your miner doesn't (like the Nano 3S) we will set it for you when you start to mine.

Unless you're an expert, just enter "X" into this field and don't worry about it.

That’s it! Save those settings and your miner should connect to our pool and start mining away.

If you check your device’s app or web page you should be able to see confirmation that you’re connected to the pool and details of your session –  your realtime hash rate, how many shares have been submitted, and so on.

Congratulations! You’re now mining on BritPool.

Good Luck!

Why Solo Mine?

Most public pools split rewards proportionally across everyone connected. This gives you smaller, steadier payouts, smoothed out over time.

Solo mining works differently: whoever actually finds the block keeps the entire reward, and nobody else takes a cut, not even us.

The trade-off is that solo mining can be something of a long-odds game for most home miners. You could run for months without finding anything. For example, the odds of a miner running at 5 TH/s finding a block in any given year are currently around 12:1.

This pool exists for people who understand that trade-off and want to mine solo anyway… whether that’s out of curiosity, principle, or just enjoying the process. It’s a bit like playing the lottery, for free, thousands of times a day. Your only costs (other than the initial outlay for you miner) is the electricity cost to power your machine.

The other benefit is there’s no accounting complexity, no waiting on payout thresholds for you, and no funds ever passing through a third party, like us. When you find a block, it’s built with your BCH address from the very first moment it exists. You receive the reward to your BCH address straight from the Bitcoin Cash network.

If steady, predictable payouts matter more to you than the full-reward-or-nothing model, a traditional shared pool will likely suit you better, and that’s completely fine.
